Odette
2.26 CTW
1.07 ct Natural Pink Sapphire
GIA Report Number: 2191396667
Odette is an exquisite 1.07ct, natural, earth mined, soft pink sapphire, mounted in 18k White Gold. The sapphire is surrounded by a halo of scintillating, natural, earth mined diamonds. Absolutely, exquisite.
There are many hues of pink. I would describe the color of this sapphire as soft, “Princess Pink.” It is rare to see a clean, soft, pastel pink sapphire. Please see photo of loose sapphire, before it was set in 18k. Once set, our photographer had difficulty capturing the true color. This sapphire is nearly perfect.
Fancy colored sapphires, are sapphires which are any color, except blue. Pastel colored sapphires are extremely desirable.
Odette is exquisite in every way, which is why she was chosen for the Duchess Collection. We hope that she will be thoughtfully worn, kept close and lovingly cared for.
The setting was created out of 18k White Gold. This beauty scintillates in the sunlight. When in direct sunlight, the White Gold setting, shines through the pink sapphire, creating an illusion of a silvery, lavender color.
The Crown is Brilliant Cut, and the Pavillion is Step Cut.
Odette is surrounded by a halo of 19, well matched, round, brilliant cut, scintillating, natural, earth mined diamonds, weighing approximately 0.14 CTW.
The shoulders are graced with an additional 18, well matched, round, brilliant cut, scintillating, natural, earth mined diamonds, weighing approximately 0.45 CTW.
Wedding Band
The coordinating “Wedding Band,” boasts an additional 20, well matched, round, brilliant cut, scintillating, earth mined diamonds, weighing approximately 0.60 CTW.
It is important to understand, that 18k gold, is nearly pure gold (24k). Pure gold is too soft to reasonably use, in the creation of jewelry. Any fine piece of jewelry, created out of 18k Gold (White), should be thoughtfully and carefully worn.
There is no cost to our clients, for sizing a piece from our “Crown Vault Collection” or “Duchess Collection.”
Sizing: All rings in the “Duchess Collection,” are made of 18k white gold, and created in a size 7. Please contact us prior to purchasing, if you you require sizing.
“Odette” is a premiere piece. Our goldsmith will make certain, sizing is done properly, without negatively affecting the structural integrity. If an increase in size is required, our goldsmith will add 18k gold. We do not stretch rings. Please, do not take this custom piece to a jeweler and have them stretch the 18k band, to increase the size. Stretching is a crude method of sizing, and the entire structure would be affected.
Please read “Sizing” on our main page, to learn “why” there are appropriate methods, of sizing a ring.
It is important for our customer’s to know, that once a ring has been changed in any way, which includes changing the size, we can no longer market the piece as “new” to another client, and the piece is no longer returnable.
White Gold and Rhodium Plating
Rhodium is a member of the Platinum family. It is a precious, and extremely expensive metal. Depending on the market, Rhodium can cost twice that of gold and platinum.
The basis of all gold jewelry, is 24k pure gold. Pure gold is yellow in color. Jewelry described as “White Gold” (10k, 14k, 18k) is plated with Rhodium. It is Rhodium plating, which gives the appearance of what we refer to as “White Gold, desired by designers and wearers.
Rhodium resists scratching and tarnishing, extremely well. Eventually, most pieces of “White Gold” jewelry, begin to show yellow or gold color, as the Rhodium may have worn away in areas. Take the piece to a competent goldsmith or jeweler, who will clean and Rhodium Plate the piece. We suggest this, every couple of years, commensurate with wear.
Care and Cleaning
To clean a piece of jewelry, use a half cup of warm water and a couple drops of dish soap, such as Palmolive or Dawn. Never, ever use toothpaste. Toothpaste will scratch Gold, Rhodium Plating and some gemstones.
Allow the piece to soak for approximately a half hour, before trying to clean. Use a super soft, fine brush (NOT A WORN OUT OLD TOOTHBRUSH) and gently remove any buildup of lotion, oils, etc. Rinse and gently pat dry, with a lint free cloth.
Do not allow any employee of a jewelry store, to use a buffer to “shine up” your jewelry. The buffer may “snag” gold details like tiny prongs, which hold the delicate, melee diamonds. Buffing can also wear Rhodium plating. Exercise caution when allowing anyone to handle or clean, a fine piece of jewelry.
Store fine jewelry at room temperature, in a protective container, ensuring it doesn’t come in contact with other jewelry.
