In 1910, the gemstone Morganite was named after financier and gem collector J.P. Morgan, by the chief gemologist of Tiffany and Company, George Kunz. This fabulous gemstone, is as desirable today, as it was over 100 years ago. Morganite is a cousin to Aquamarine, Heliodor and Emerald, all varieties of the species Beryl. Color ranges from salmon pink to lavender. This gemstone was deemed to be “orangy pink,” by GIA. Absolutely gorgeous and cheerful!
