Do we have the attention of gemstone aficionados? This is a lovely, greenish blue Grandidierite! One of the rarest gemstones in the world. It’s natural and has been analyzed and tested at GIA Laboratory, in the United States of America. It’s the “Real McCoy.”
The Grandidierite is oval in shape. The cutting style is a Modified Brilliant Cut. This gemstone is semi-transparent to translucent.
A Grandidierite ranges from 7.0 – 7.5 on the MOHS Scale. When designing a setting for this gemstone, consideration of the rarity and hardness, should be taken into consideration. One might consider a bezel set, if the gemstone will be set into a ring.
