This Tsavorite Garnet (variety of Grossular Garnet) is spectacular. This untreated gemstone is spectacular.
The history of the Tsavorite Garnet is recent. In 1967, a gemstone consultant named Campbell Bridge, discovered this variety of garnet i Tanzania. Colored by Vanadium and Chromium, these lovely and cheerful gemstones are rare and highly sought after, as the majority of sapphire found in mines is highly included, making this Tsavorite Garnet very special.
This rare and previously unknown variety of garnet was introduced to designers and jewelers in 1970. It is the rarest garnet know today. Another variety of rare garnet is the Demantoid Garnet, also rare and very similar in color.
We have a spectacular, clean 1.14ct pear shaped Tsavorite Garnet. The gem is clean and the color is is spectacular, not too light or dark.
This exceptional pear shaped Tsavorite Garnet is the perfect gemstone for a ring or pendant. Depending on the wearers taste, Platinum would provide a crisp setting and help to ensure the stone is not lost should a prong become worn and break off. Yellow Gold would add a gentle touch of warmth and nature to the gem, so long as the wearer has the prongs checked commensurate with wear.
It would be wise to consider placing natural diamonds around this garnet, to protect it from being chipped. Diamond is not only a wonderful accent gemstone, but the hardest of all gemstones, a 10 on the Mohs Scale.
