After 4 years of sourcing high quality, precious and semi-precious gemstones, mined worldwide, the Earth Mined Sapphire Company was established in late fall of 2019. Our goal is to offer high quality, natural, earth mined gemstones with GIA Reports, and to share knowledge and education. We believe every consumer should know exactly what they are purchasing.
The gemstones we offer are mined from the earth, not created in a laboratory or treated with Beryllium or Titanium.
We send our gemstones to GIA Laboratory in the U.S., where they are analyzed by unbiased, highly educated gemologists, using state of the art equipment. The finest auction houses in the world rely on GIA to authenticate precious and semi-precious gemstones.
We have no investors or stockholders making decisions for the Earth Mined Sapphire Company. We make the decisions. As a result, we are in control of every detail, beholden only to our clients requests and wishes. And with that, comes quality, not quantity.
If you are interested in designing a custom piece of high quality jewelry, please email us your ideas, sketches and any photos, to convey your vision. We will do our very best to assist you and make your design ideas reality. The final product will be a spectacular, one of a kind, high quality piece of jewelry.
What We Don’t Do
We Do Not Create Our Own Gemstone Reports
We do not have a gemologist on our payroll, creating visually impressive gemstone reports, for our clients. Unbiased gemologist’s at GIA analyze our gemstones and provide unbiased GIA Reports.
Synthetic Gemstones
We don’t offer synthetic gemstones. There’s nothing precious or rare about a synthetic gemstone.
Note: Synthetic, colored gemstones were used in high end authentic Art Deco Jewelry created nearly 100 years ago. Their purpose was to provide color.
Photography
Every gemstone is unique. We don’t use creative photography techniques to superimpose a single gemstone into multiple settings. The gemstone you see is the gemstone you will recieve, along with the accompanying GIA Report.
Low Quality Calibrated Gemstones
We don’t source, stock or offer, low quality, calibrated, natural gemstones. It is a travesty to see recognizable jewelers offer low quality gemstones, set in generic settings, likely produced overseas and offered in mass quantities.
Ethically Sourced
To make the claim that any gemstone was ethically sourced, a gemstone would need to be followed from point of extraction (miner and mine location), to lapidary (gem cutter), and finally to the gem dealer and jeweler. There can be a daunting number of people involved in the “mine to market” process, of a precious or semi-precious gemstone. Visiting a mine to take photos and create videos is not a guarantee that the people who mine the gemstones, many times deep in the earth, are working in safe conditions and are being ethically treated. GIA provides videos the general public can find online.
Chemically Treated Gemstones
Many of the precious and semi-precious gemstones marketed to the public by recognizable jewelers, have been treated with chemicals such as Beryllium and Titanium. Chemicals like Beryllium and Titanium change the color of an undesirable gemstone, to a color which is desirable and profitable. These gemstones have little value. Testing at GIA and other reputable laboratories will reveal chemical treatments intended to betray the consumer.
Many jewelers and gemstone dealers avoid having their gemstones tested for chemical treatment by unbiased gemologists at reputable laboratories.
Photography
Our photographer puts a great deal of effort into capturing the jewelry and color of our gemstones, as accurately as possible. Colors of metals and gemstones which you view on your screen, may be slightly different than the actual color of the products. We believe that any difference you notice in color and clarity, will be positive.
